With the temperature in Yucatan hovering between mid 70°F and mid 80°F, the peak season is from mid December to April. If you want to take advantage of low prices, go between May and the beginning of December. From May to October it is hot and wet with the humidity climbing, along with the temperature which can register 90°F. Rains can be expected any time along the coast but the chances of rain are highest during the hurricane months of September and October.
September is the ideal time to visit the Yucatan. The summer is over by then and the rains are expected only in October. The hot sun of the summer heats up the Caribbean Sea, attracting a wide variety of marine life. Snorkelling is particularly rewarding at this time because there is so much to see.
